Release Date: Aug 05, 2019

SHELTON, WA – If you want to reach a health care provider in the middle of the night because you suspect you have the stomach flu, you may not want to wait for a regular appointment at your doctor’s office or normal business hours at the MGH Walk-In Clinic. From treating conjunctivitis to the common cold, My Mason Virtual Care can provide a quick diagnosis that will get you on the road to recovery faster. A service of Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics, My Mason Virtual Care offers 24/7 treatment for common conditions, such as allergies, bug bites and urinary tract infections.

My Mason Virtual Care, powered by American Well, saves patients travel time by allowing them to set up a virtual appointment online or over the phone with a board-certified doctor. These health care providers can treat non-emergent conditions and can send electronic prescriptions immediately to your local pharmacy. Urgent care appointments cost only $35 per visit.

“I’ve used it, and it’s fast, it’s easy and it works for me and my family, especially when illness happens outside of the normal business hours, late at night or on weekends when we need to speak to someone right away,” said Jennifer Capps, Chief Development & Communication Officer at Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics. “This service saves patients time and aligns with our mission of Putting Patients First.”

Patients can install the Amwell app in the Apple and Google Play app stores or go online to mymasonvirtualcare.com to create an account and see a full list of treatable conditions, including some mental health conditions like anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder. Use service code “MG” to ensure the $35 rate for service.  Available to all Medicare, TRICARE, uninsured and insured patients.

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911. The MGH Walk-In Clinic can also treat non-emergent medical conditions when your primary care provider is unavailable. The clinic is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, and all major holidays except Christmas.
