"Living Well with Diabetes" - Two-Day Class in February at MGH&FC

Keeping diabetes under control and well-managed is key to a healthy lifestyle that can be free of complications.   Those with a new diagnosis of diabetes need comprehensive education to understand how to manage this complicated disease. Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics is offering a two-day class entitled “Living Well with Diabetes” on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 6 and 7, 2018 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Pershing Meeting Room at Mason General Hospital for people recently diagnosed with diabetes.

Presenting the class is MGH&FC’s highly qualified team of Diabetes Wellness specialists, who cover everything about diabetes ‒ from its diagnosis, medications, prevention and treatment of complications, to meal planning, exercise, stress management, living well, and engaging support people and a health care team.  The goal is to help patients effectively self-manage their diabetes to enjoy a normal, healthy lifestyle and avoid health complications. 

Advance registration for the class is required, as space is limited.  Register early by calling Debbie McGinnis, R.N., CDE, at (360) 427-7332.  Diabetes education is a covered service under most insurance plans.
