SHELTON, Wash. – The holidays can be challenging for those managing diabetes with the added temptation of holiday treats ‒ but everyone can enjoy festive food and drink by knowing how to balance their condition and stay in control.  “Eat, Drink & Be Healthy for the Holidays!” is the subject of December’s Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics Allyn Diabetes Support Group meeting on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Port of Allyn building’s meeting room.  Due to December holidays the class will be held a week earlier than usual.

MGH&FC Registered Dietitians and Certified Diabetes Educators Debbie McGinnis and Sarah Fulkerson will present the class with tips on how to keep diabetes under control during the holidays. They will share recipe ideas and toast the holiday season with ‘mock- tails’ for the class to sample and enjoy.  Family members/significant others are also invited, to give their support and also for their own health benefit!
