MGH&FC receives accreditation from new authority - DNV-GL

Release Date: Jan 16, 2019

Shelton, Wash. – Our District’s first DNV-GL (Det Norske Veritas - Germanischer Lloyd) accreditation survey and MGH&FC passed this inaugural survey with flying colors! DNV replaces the Joint Commission as our hospital system’s accreditation authority and partner for safer health care, providing quality-driven accreditation and clinical excellence certifications to America’s hospitals.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) grants authority to DNV-GL Healthcare to certify critical access hospitals, employing the proven standards of the National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (NIAHO) and a highly collaborative survey process. The standards are based on Medicare’s requirements and surveys are conducted annually, unannounced.

DNV-GL was created in 2013 as a result of a merger between two leading organizations in the field ‒ Det Norske Veritas (Norway) and Germanischer Lloyd (Germany). A partner for safer health care, DNV-GL is driven by their purpose of safeguarding life, property and the environment, enabling organizations to advance the safety and sustainability of their business.
