Marissa Hubble ‒ MGH&FC’s October Employee of the Month

Release Date: Nov 25, 2018

“Marissa is extremely reliable and always helpful,” said her nominator. “She is respected by people at all levels for her assistance and professionalism, and everyone who works with her has faith in her ability. She is also caring and compassionate with patients, and all of our ‘regulars’ are quite fond of her.”

In addition to her full time work at the Hospital, Marissa is engaged in a full time, online RN, BSN program through Indiana State University (ISU). After completing a CNA program at South Puget Sound Community College, she went on to obtain her LPN certification at Olympic Community College in Bremerton, graduating in 2013. This December she will graduate from ISU and add BSN and RN to her credentials. “As an RN, my scope will broaden and I will be working more independently” explained Marissa.

“My work is so rewarding,” Marissa went on to say. “It’s comforting to see folks get well and hear gratitude from the patients. I also like the smaller-sized hospital environment, where my co-workers have become close friends.”

Growing up with her brother in Shelton, Marissa graduated from Shelton High School in 2010. While dedicated to her work and career objectives, she doesn’t have much leisure time outside of work and study.

Marissa would like to give a shout-out to Jennifer Anderson, director of Outpatient Surgery and Care Coordination Services, who was instrumental in getting her LPN position approved. “Jennifer has been a huge mentor for me both professionally and personally, and I am very grateful to her,” Marissa stated. “I’d also like to thank Nancy Ownby, a co-worker and one of my closest friends, for her great support.
